Based in Christchurch, Bournemouth, Dorset. Specialising in Contemporary British Art.
I consider myself to be a mixed media artist, with an interest in both 2D and 3D art. I am a printmaker but I also sculpt in clay, with particular emphasis on sculpting the human head. My professional life has mainly been involved with teaching Mathematics and Science, but for as long as I can remember I have held a parallel interest in Art. I completed my HNC and HND in Printmaking at the Arts University in Bournemouth.
Over many years the inspiration for my work has been diverse, and in the past I have integrated my scientific knowledge with ongoing artistic interests using a combination of materials to capture light. Recently I have focused once again on the printed image, often using a combination of printmaking techniques such as etching as well as screenprinting to complete a picture. Currently, I am particularly interested in the pursuit of lino printing since it can lend itself to the use of vibrant colour and graphic imagery. Colour, and the use of light has always been central to my work. For a number of years I have been involved with Bournemouth Arts Club and also Poole Printmakers, and have exhibited on numerous occasions with both of these. I have also exhibited my work outside of these groups
