Robert Amesbury Brooks studied at the Slade School of Fine Arts from 1983 to 87. Under the tuition of Norman Morris, Euan Uglow, Patrick George and Sir Lawrence Gowing whom in Robert’s interview said “Beautiful, beautiful work. I like it. See you next term!”
Since then, Robert has spent his time teaching and painting the Dorset countryside which is a constant inspiration to him. He has been represented by Cork Street gallery Browse & Darby since 1995 and has been included in many group exhibitions. Solo exhibitions include Quarr Gallery, Highcliffe Castle, Lighthouse, Poole and Russell Coates Museum.
