In my practice I’m looking at what is real and how our perceptions of the world are mediated by our environment. We believe we can trust our eves and yet how do we know that what we see is real. How do we know it we see the same view as our neighbour. I have been looking at entangled branches and reflections to try and unravel some deeper reality.
The distortions that shows is in the surface imperfections of a pond. the invisible beyond the visible through the branches of a forest. There is something like a wobble in the visual field. The surface of water shows glimpses of what lies below, along with reflections above and detritus or the surface. As I move my head from side to side do I spy something at the edges of my optical range? I look for this wobble or tear in the fabric of reality in the walls, floor and sky around me. I am endeavouring to look underneath and behind me to see the hidden aspects and to uncover another truth.
